Wiffiti & TextTheMob

Following on from the Tremblay's study discussed in 'More than Mobile + Learning', I came across these audience response tools while researching developments in m-learning.

Wiffiti seems like a great way to use mobiles in the classroom and could have some blended learning uses too. Students can text their answers from their mobile phones and their texts appear on the whiteboard or screen. Currently, it is being modified to allow for moderation and 'blocking' of certain content which would be essential in most classroom settings.

On a similar theme, Text the Mob allows you to poll your students, collect answers or even questions by a similar process - students use their mobiles to text. The free version allows you to post up to 3 questions and have up to 50 response particpants at an event. There are more features available in their paid packages.
